Reaching New Heights FAQs

At the beginning of the school year during back to school night, there will be an opportunity to sign up as a volunteer. Different options for volunteering include: taking home materials to cut, prep, etc., volunteering as a chaperone for field trips, coming into the class to read or share as a community member.
Field Trips
Children will participate in several field trips per year. We will transport children in the Metro vans. Parent volunteers are welcome and needed on our excursions and can follow behind the vans or meet us at the destination. On occasion, a small cost will be involved for a trip.
Snack / Lunch
For Reaching New Heights students we ask that you provide a basic snack once every four-five weeks, for the entire class. Due to state health regulations, all snacks must be store purchased. RNH will provide water. We ask that you pack your child’s lunch with non-refrigerated items. We will provide milk for each student.
Our gymnastics part of the curriculum will be taught by two (2) of our professionally trained gymnastics teachers. Gymnastics portion is taught at a 1-10 ratio.
Birthdays & Celebrations

A child’s most important celebration is his/her birthday, and at Reaching New Heights we want to help make their day special. We will celebrate each child’s birthday on or near the actual date. If a child’s birthday falls in the summer months, it will be celebrated with a half birthday approximately midyear. Parents are asked to provide a healthy snack (and a treat if you would like) for their child’s class on the day of their birthday celebration. It will be served at our regular snack time. Parents are welcome to participate.

Special Celebrations

Several times a year we will have special events in which we will invite parents/families to participate.
